  To Quit smoking. Believe me, if I can, ANYONE can! I smoked since I was 15, stopped once, started again. My freind , Cindy was going nuts when I started again. She had to quit, and I found out I had C.O. P. D., did not want to die like my mom and dad.

  I tryed the patches, still smoked with them! Cindy stopped with this little cig, you recharge it, it did cost $70.00. But look at how much I no longer spend! When I get on Gather, or the phone, is the the worst.Cindy gave me this, I keep it right by the comptutor.

If you thinkg that that helps then why not? Myself prefer the will power - just say no and go do somethng else with your hands and take deep breathes to resist the temptations of thinking of anything of the sort :-) Good luck with it :-)

Best Wishes, trying to stop smoking isn't easy, first of all the chemicals they use in the tobacco not to mention the other junk, people should try the patch, its loaded with nicotine and helps smoking cesation, they use to be free at the seminars and the advertisments on television, I don't know if they still do that for free though, but anyone trying to stop has my sympathy its very difficult. Not as easy as it sound, from all reports released from former smokers that took months to kick the bad habit. Smoking robs your body of vitamins and nutrients and you smell, really really smell.

I know it's a nightmare to quit. I'm just glad I didn't begin. I did have to get off way too many pain pills after my spine surgery and that was awful. I still take them if the pain is too bad to function, but no longer popping them like Dr. House, lol. I'm wondering constantly how he took fistfuls of Vicodin without barfing, the tylenol in them usually causes illness before you can take that many.

Tylenol is rather toxic. Vicodin bothers a lot of people. I never take more than a couple a day anymore, since my pain is chronic. Even taking those two too close together leads to troubles for me. It's also constipating which is no fun!

Tylenol will destroy your liver and from one who has witnessed somebody die due to liver failure (Tylenol didn't cause it, but compounded the matter), you do _not_ want that. It is a very ugly death......

Good luck! I've given up hope on my hubby ever quitting.....he just can't and has tried everything...even hypnosis tapes. He's smoked for about 35 or 40 years, but did quit for about 3 or 4.....but then he got shifted to a truck route where he's over the road each night....he said that the roads got boring and he "needed something to keep him awake and alert." Sooooo, back to smoking........guess I just have to put up with it, the second hand smoke and suppose he's going to be smoking in my new car that I'm getting next month.....ughhhh! Well, he's the breadwinner in the family so I feel I don't really have the right to say much1.....I had said something about not smoking in my new car, and he blew up........ughhhh

one thing I promised myself was that if we really got this house, I would quit smoking. Since it seems to truly be ours once it closes (still a dream to me) I've started on my trying to cut back. I do have one of the electronic cigarettes too and 4 ends to go with it. We had bought them initially for the bowling alley since we can't smoke in there anymore.

my husband is done smoking since 2008, when my granddaughter was born. he did the chantix thing and no side effect, I wish you the best you will feel so much better

I know it can be done since I managed to quit. I had thought that I would never be able to give up cigarettes. I did learn that quiting is a gift that you give yourself when you are ready to receive it. Once you succeed in quiting, you know for all time that you have great inner strength.
I also learned how bad it smells and had to apologize to people for making them endure the stink. It also took a few months to scrub the whole house to get the stench out. I was amazed to learn how sticky my smoking had made everything and how much less cleaning I had to do afterwards.

Quitting smoking is easy -- I did it so many times.

$70.00 bucks isn't much, less than the cost of a carton of cigarettes.

good luck on quitting smoking. I tried once, got sick as a dog and that was the end of that for me...
but both my parents smoked and my youngest sister still smokes, though she has been told many times to quit by her doc...don't know if this would do her any good or not...

Diane, if this has helped you to stop smoking then I thank the Lord. My ex-husband was a heavy smoker for many years. It took 2 heart attackes and a stroke to finally make him quit. Not his emphysema and COPD are so bad that he is not able to draw in enough breath to sustain him walking and has to use a walker. His lungs are so bad that oxygen would but help. Dr. told him he only has 25% lung capacity.
