So then, do lemons help with acne scars? Well, yes and no. If you've heard that lemons work well for acne scars then you'd be right. You might have heard before that lemons are an excellent bleach for your skin however that's not the case at all.
Instead, lemons help facilitate something called 'exfoliation' which is the removal of dead skin from whatever part of your body you're applying it to. This removes acne scarring by helping to remove the skin that's affected and replacing it with beautiful new skin, getting rid of scars fast.
Lemon juice stings when you apply it because it's an acid. Always remember to do a spot test first to make sure that you're on the right track and you won't have any harmful reactions. If you find that it stings beyond belief, dilute the strength with a little water and it won't be quite so powerful.
But does it work?
Well as I said, yes and no. It depends on a lot of things like skin type, how healthy you are etc etc. It also depends on how often you apply the juice. For best results you should apply twice a day and leave it on for an hour or more. Wash off later with natural soap.
People who find that lemons do not work are often not doing it enough so make sure that you keep things consistent with your lemon application.
And anyway, it's worth a shot. Lemons are so darn cheap that it's not really going to be a problem if they don't work - you only lost a few dollars.
