Lindsay Lohan has had some pathetic excuses for being innocent, but this one takes the cake.
LiLo, who is currently facing felony charges which could land her in a state prison for up to three years is afraid, and with good reason. She's been accused of having stolen a one-of-a-kind $2,500 necklace from a Venice, CA jewelry store.
Lindsay first handled the accusations by saying that she was never in the store in question. Can't be guilty if you never were there, right? There's only one snafu with that plan, the surveillance shot of her not only in the store but wearing the necklace in question. Oops!
"She told advisers close to her that she was never in Kamofie & Company, the jewelry store that she allegedly stole the necklace from. When it was pointed out to Lindsay that there was surveillance video of her in the store, the denials stopped," claims a source that spoke to Radar Online.
Lindsay has maintained innocence form the beginning and has subscribed to a denial state of mind. She claims that she borrowed the piece, however, there's a policy at the store that requires paperwork to borrow an item. Surprisingly so this paperwork was never filed on LiLo's behalf.
Lindsay did return the necklace, ironically enough about the time that the authorities had secured a warrant to search her home. This has led many to speculate that she was tipped off that they had the warrant, and it'd seem that those people are indeed correct.
"Lindsay couldn't get out of her house fast enough," a source close to her told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "She didn't want to be there if the cops did go through with the search warrant -- it would be a nightmare for her.
LiLo, who is no stranger to run-ins with the law has been painted as being a habitual liar. Some believe this is because she wants to please so many people.
Radar Online reports that people near Lindsay say that she's always lying. "People in Lindsay's inner circle say she lies all of the time. Some people believe one of the reasons she does is because Lindsay is trying to be a people pleaser."
If only someone would explain to her that if she made the right choices in life she could please others by living honestly and keeping her nose clean. Perhaps that's a lesson that she could work on learning while she's behind bars thinking about what the term borrow truly means.

It seems a jail (or rather state prison) term is looming on the horizon. It's not like she didn't know what was being done was wrong (assuming she truly did shoplift the necklace) and if it was a misunderstanding, this could be a lesson to her to do things like paperwork yourself.
You want things done right, sometimes they have to be done by you and you alone.
Borrow ... has such a hazy foundational definition. Are you actually so sure it doesn't mean 'take what you want when you want it even if it's not yours and you don't have permission'? ;-/

No one really knows what it means to her, but the actual definition of borrow does require the owner giving consent for the item to be out of their possession. This is clearly not what happened, if the store owner is to be believed.
Mine was when I thought Mc Hammer and NKOTB were awesome, but at least they didn't do the things she's done, LOL.
