Lauren ConradÂ’s latest reality show for MTV has been pulled! The show was suppose to focus only on LaurenÂ’s career and aspirations; however, according to her, MTV felt it was above their audience and wanted Conrad to make the show more personal by including her private life.
Speaking about her MTV show being pulled, Lauren said, "We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life. We agreed going into the project that this show would be an aspirational one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn't feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it."
If Lauren’s comments are true then one can honestly say at least, MTV knows their audience. With shows such as Jersey Shore breaking viewer records for the network, it’s little wonder MTV pulled Conrad’s new show. Seriously, if she wants to have a chance at airing her “career” reality show, she should turn to another network such as Bravo.
Seriously though when one reads her statement, thereÂ’s definitely a bitter tone. Plus, itÂ’s somewhat condescending. Maybe Lauren Conrad has outgrown MTV. If that is the case, itÂ’s a good thing that her latest show was pulled. Maybe itÂ’s time for her to truly focus on her fashion line and not her reality TV career.
