Sometimes, when I am on the entertainment or celebrity pages, I feel like the oldest fogiest old fogey that ever was. I simply don’t know who people are anymore. Someone I’ve never seen before will proudly announce they are gay, or I will see a huge headline “Divorcing!” under a photo with a picture of two folks I have never seen before in my life.
I wonder if this is just me, or if part of this is because SO many people are considered celebrities these days? They have girls who behave badly, guys who behave badly, housewives unlike any housewives we mortals have ever known. . .do any of these people actually deserve to be called celebrities? I mean look at Alexis Neiers, who through reading about studiously, I have discovered has a mom who is more than happy to trot out her daughters on a show called “Pretty Wild” and pimps them out to be just that. Instead of encouraging them to behave themselves in lieu of going to jail, this sorry excuse for a mother tells Alexis to “work on her image” for the court.
I don’t know about you, but I am quite mystified by how these people get famous for being drunken coked up messes, and included on the “celebrity” pages. At least have some talent FIRST before you become “troubled.”
