Dream C Club was released for the Xbox 360 in 2009. The object of the game is to attend a hostess club, spend time with the women there, and pursue a relationship with the girl of your choice.
(For the uninitiated: A hostess club is a bar with an almost exclusively female staff, where a customer pays to spend time in the company of a beautiful woman who will drink and talk with him. These businesses are very common in Japan, and are a staple of the Asian night-time entertainment industry. There is no stripping or nudity at a hostess club.)
The game proved popular enough to warrant a PSP port and also a sequel, Dream Club Zero, which will be released by March.
The sequel is set to feature a number of activities that the original game was lacking, and emphasize spending time with the hostesses outside of the club. One new activity only seen outside of clubs is the "Dream Insect" minigame. Occasionally, during a date, an insect will invade your lady's personal space, whereupon the player's assistance in vanquishing the bug will be requested.
Below, a player successfully removes a bug from Haruka's person:
Before the presence of unwanted bugs, all is well in the world.
Once an insect chooses to perch itself atop the bosoms of your underaged acquaintence, the mood becomes sour.
The player must take careful aim when removing the insect from this girl's chest; one wrong move would mean certain death.
Although this scene may resemble molestation, the player is actually removing the insect with surgical precison.
The insect has been defeated, and the day is saved.
Our heroine seems embarassed about the whole ordeal - or miffed that her bodyguards stood idly by during the insect's assault.
In the above scenario, the bug dilemma is resolved successfully. However, it is possible for the player to miss the insect - intentionally or unintentionally.
Another maiden is beset by a bug...
The player takes careful aim...
He lunges forth and greedily reaches for his target.
It would appear that the player missed what he was aiming for - or did he?
In this scenario, the player is not a hero, but a creepy guy putting his hands on a woman's breasts in a bar.
This woman's facial expression almost seems to imply that she enjoys having the cute insect roaming over her private regions.
However, she does not seem to be so pleased with the player's hands in those same spots.
She seems offended, but the hearts emanating from her face speak otherwise.
The player is chastised for a job poorly done.
A verbal lashing ensues.
Breast-groping under the pretense of insect brushing is not the only feature that has been added to the sequel.
The player may also give his date a friendly and platonic back massage.
A much less risky endeavor than the insect minigame.
Your dates will genuinely appreciate your chivalrous back-rubbing.
However, the less pure-minded among you may have begun to wonder if the player can "fail" this minigame, as well...
Examine the case of this perturbed young woman.
She requests a back-rub from the player...
He obliges, but rubs too low.
Her anger is palpable.
The player had better step up his game to prevent that pink heart from shrinking any further.
She may change her tune when plagued by an insect...
