Nicole Kidman has divulged the reason behind keeping new baby Faith Margaret a secret. She explained why she and hubby Keith Urban didn't share that they were expecting a new baby via a surrogate.
According to a report from People Magazine, Kidman shared the reason for the secrecy while chatting with a People reporter at the SAG awards. She explained that she and Keith felt it was better for the family, as well as for the mother carrying the child, if everything was kept mum until after her birth.
Nicole Kidman did mention how incredibly difficult keeping the secret about expecting a new baby was for both her and Urban.
"I wanted to be able to tell everybody, because I was so excited about her," she says.
Yet the couple decided that this was "their thing," and that along with the privacy issues made their decision a bit easier.
Faith Margaret Urban is named in part for Nicole Kidman's grandmother, whose named is Margaret.
"She's my inspiration," she says of her grandmother, who had her last child at the age of 49.
Faith Margaret is the fourth child for Nicole Kidman, who has a 2-year-old daughter named Sunday Rose with Urban, and two children from her marriage to Tom Cruise--Isabella, who is 19, and Connor, who is 15.
Kudos to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban for protecting their family's privacy as well as that of their surrogate. Congratulations to them all on the birth of their beautiful baby girl.
