Fox is way over the top. They're doing some pretty nasty things to this country with all the hate and hysteria. Rush Limbaugh's show does the same thing, although he's not on Fox. Hate. Hysteria. Misinformation. That's no way to run a democracy and we'll lose ours if we keep this up.

I overheard a Rush Limbaugh segment where he played Nazi propoganda music and tapes - from the Nazis in 1930s Germany - when he was talking about Obama. So, please...

I worked on a campaign for several Democratic Candidates in my district, and by the third day it became apparent that there was good cause to take precautions against attack.

Several Months ago Gabrielle Giffords offices in Tucson were attacked, and vandalized, when she voted in favor of Health Care Reform. She herself asked that the rhetoric be cooled down before someone was hurt or killed.

There is an atmosphere of righteous violence against anything not in perfect alignment with the Neoconservative political position and it is clear enough that when I was transporting documents and research data for the people I worked for I did it with a pistol for company.

The Loughner case is tragic, but he had issues with Pima Community College, an employer, and many others who were not politicians. He may have had a distorted concept of what he was attacking, and he may have been delusional, but he did not shoot Gabrielle Giffords because she turned him down for a date.

I'd forgotten about a lot of that. Thanks for the reminder. We really need to tone it down. Disagreements are fine. Fear and hate-mongering are not, really not.

Here are copies of birth announcements from that year, in both the Honolulu Advertiser and The Star Bulletin. These were Hawaii's main newspapers and they not only refer to the person born (our president), but also give a residential street address for his parents.

Years ago I did an article for here based on an article from Media Matters (I think) showing how Fox News distorted the faces of liberals with photoshop, when they showed them when they talked about them, to make them also look awful.

The average journalist would get in trouble for trying to make improvements. Only FOX would be so rotten to photoshop to make photos look worse.
