The 13th account of Homicide Detective J. P. Beaumont of Seattle, Washington.
New Years Day, J.P is babysitting when he gets a call about a floater in the bay. This is the start of one the worst time of his career.
He is chasing a killer that seems to have kill a person that really deserve it. But it is his job to find the killer. Which isn't made easy since his partner, Kramer hates him. A sex-changing man is finding him attractive is throw into the mix.
His personal life is going from bad to worst. His ex-wife is dying from cancer and he isn't coping well with it. He is being investigating about being child molester. And being an alcoholic , will he fall off the wagon?
As normal, Jance has bits of knowledge that always makes me thing or agree with.
“When it comes to women, “ I told him, “ like it or not, there are some things you just have to accept on faith.”
and
When the brass starts jumping up and down and demanding results yesterday, when they lose track of the fact that instant results often breed long-term disaster, that's when I have a hard time keeping a civil tongue in my mouth.
The life of a Detective isn't easy but if it wasn't why read it. Another fast pace tale about my favorite Detective J. P. Beaumont. Soon I will read the tale of Brady and Beaumont.

this pasage sounds like United States Army Colonels that themselves couldn't read a map if their life depended on it, or Captains that expect you to wipe their ass for them again very very UNITED STATES ARMY to the corp, sounds very intriguing. I like the British version where the ending is up in the air, you are left to assume the conclusion of what you have read in previous chapters, and what you think the characters ultimately did. I DO NOT like being told who the MURDER is, I like having to play the guessing game makes the entire book more fun, when you the READER puts together the puzzle and uses reasoning to draw your own conclusions, and I especially like the multiple murderers, sounds like a very good read.
