A Trip Around the Olympic Peninsula, Part I: Lake Crescent Lodge

Last August my husband and I drove around the Olympic Peninsula over the course of three days. Our first stop (for coffee) was Lake Crescent Lodge, on the shores of pristine Lake Crescent. Here, you can stop for a meal, a beer, or coffee...or rent a room or a cabin, swim and hike, and attend seminars at Olympic Park Institute...

We've been there several times when my sister lived up there. Lake Crescent has a magical quality. I've been in it and on it and have also enjoyed the lodge. Great memories. Can't wait to see the next one!

It is, Sandy! There's a great waterfall a short hike from the lodge: Marymere Falls.

Sheer magic - what a beautiful place. I saw it a long time ago and never forgot it's beauty. It is my dream to one day own a house near there.

Mine, too, Nana. It is peaceful. We have stopped at Lake Crescent many times, for swimming or hiking, but never stayed overnight...I would like to do that sometime.

I love the area, but I've never actually visited the Olympic Peninsula. I'd love to see it sometime, maybe the next time I'm in the area. It sure looks beautiful.

It is a treasure of a peninsula and a national park. Even if you just blast through, you will get a great experience. There are many easily accessible places to visit. Come and see the big trees!
