Remember that $10 million?
According to TVGuide, McGarrett’s actions when Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) had that bomb strapped around his neck have not been forgotten. Peter Lenkov, executive producer on H50 explains that in the upcoming Sunday episode, “There’s a great twist in the story that leads back to the $10 million McGarrett stole from the evidence locker to pay Chin Ho’s ransom a few weeks back. That’s going to come back to haunt him, but by the end of the episode you realize there’s a guardian angel protecting Five-0.”
None of that is surprising—even though fans couldn’t help but worry that someone would discover that $10 million missing sooner rather than later, at the same time, it was hard to imagine that anything would really come of it.
More scoop from “Kaie’e”
It’s hard not to want to go “Aww” when you hear why Danny (Scott Caan) is learning to surf from Kono (Grace Park)—he wants to “impress his daughter” despite the fact that he’s “obviously averse to water.” In fact, one of the sneak peeks (below) shows this lesson. In the clip, Kono is teaching Danny how to stand up on his board—but they haven’t exactly made it into the water yet. She tells him not to look down at his feet once he gets up, but he feels awkward learning on the sand and not in the water. He wants to do something nice for his daughter. She tells him to go catch a wave, but once he looks out into the water, he agrees to work on the basics more. That’s when the tsunami warning sounds and they have to evacuate the area.
As William Keck points out, “there’s no football in Hawaii Five-0’s special Sunday post-AFC Championship Game episode,” but there apparently is a romantic aspect. Malia (Reiko Aylesworth) and Catherine (Michelle Borth) will be appearing. Chin Ho ran into Malia in last week’s episode on the case and she’s still wearing his ring around her neck.
Meanwhile, McGarrett and Catherine do continue to cross paths and find time to flirt even in the middle of a case. How do you think Catherine will appear in this episode? Do you think she’ll be in McGarrett’s bed to start off the episode or do you think they contact her for help as the tidal wave nears land? The second sneak peek (below) shows just this. The scene seems to follow from the first sneak peek, as the tsunami warning is still sounding and McGarrett and Catherine are both hurrying down the stairs getting dressed to answer their ringing phones. They both receive information about the oncoming tidal waves and the ETA of the first waves is three hours. While Catherine says she can be somewhere in ten minutes, McGarrett one-ups her and tells the Governor he’ll be there in five minutes. Catherine has been called back to base—they’re going to deep waters in the fleet to ride it out. McGarrett comments that everyone else “will just have to get their snorkels out” and kisses her. She tells him to be careful and he echoes the sentiment back at her.
Are you looking forward to the special Sunday night episode of Hawaii Five-0?
