Last night was the return of American Idol, with 2 new judges, and one old favorite. This season starts without its creator and most well known judge Simon Cowell. The first night of the season takes place in Jersey City New Jersey, where I was born. Yeah!
When they announced, who the two new replacements would be, I was disappointed. I felt sure that the show would not have the same flavor. And without Simon, I couldn't see how the show would even survive.
The two new replacements to sit as judges are J.Lo, and Steven Tyler. Now J.Lo I was pretty happy with. I felt she was a good replacement for Paula Abdul. However I had my doubts about Steven Tyler. He is a gifted muscian, and has sold millions. But it was his personality, I wasn't sure of for AI.
After watching the show, I found I had enjoyed it, I think even more, so. The judges showed a more human side, and the contestants that didn't get a go to Hollywood, were treated in a more humane way, unlike what Simon Cowell was well known for. The humour of Steven Tyler, really was added plus. And J.Lo was as I expected. Sweet, and had some good advice for many of the contestants.
I think this panel of judges will end up working well, and it won't be the disappointment I thought it was going to be. But the show has just started, so I guess we will see. Tonight they are on again, and I'll be watching!

It seemed to me more went through in Jersey then New Orleans, but then again I didn't count. So far between the two states there seems to be a few pretty decent ones that have made it through this round. Of course we know it get tougher after this lol!
