LIVE Hummingbird Babies Nest Cam

This is too cool not to share.

A friend in Irvine, CA has a LIVE nest cam of baby hummingbirds just born

this morning! We all know how tiny hummingbirds are.

Can you imagine the size of these babies! Microscopic no doubt.

Let me know if you have problems with the link.

Keep watching and you will see the Mom flying in and out of the nest.

She feeds them, it is so cool to watch.

They will be leaving the nest soon!

I could not believe it was real but the lady lives in CA and the temp is like 53. I would love to find one of these in my yard! The nest looks sort of like a rose bush, amazing!

Looks like the nest is in a rose bush. We have hummingbirds around here alot in the summer, but have never seen a nest or babies. Wonder if this video will be up all day when being accessed.

Same here and I am always looking! This is not her first video, she usually keeps it up around the clock. She has school classes looking at it all over the country!

There you go, the clickable link. When you type up your post, type in the word you want people to click on. You copy the web address you want them to go to, then in your article highlight the word you chose for people to click on, click on the picture of the link up top near the B HTML and other choices, paste the web address in the space where it ask for it in the box that will pop up and when you publish your article the link will be clickable.

Oh wow, this is so amazing, I'll be going back to see more. I didn't see the babies yet but I'm sure I will eventually since hummingbirds go to eat about every 15 minutes or so.

Me too! Based on my Field Guide, I would say this is an Allen's hummingbird, which live only in the western coastal areas. The young stay in the nest for 22-25 days. This is SO fun!

Oh how cool. I was able to see baby hummers up close one year. There were 3 of them in the nest and it was amazing how tiny they were.

Wow, that's really cool. It's so clear and close-up too. I think it is the best I've ever seen for something like this myself. The bird is gorgeous to boot.
We used to have them nest in our backyard a lot in some bushes we had. They would defend that nest like crazy, and if you walked near it would attack you, LOL!

I even put it in handy locations on the web so I can keep going back to it haha!! AND added their page to facebook! This just is not something one sees all the time!!
The buzzing of the adults wings as they come and go sounds neat too!

Yes! I haven't been able to be online much the last couple of weeks - mostly to check email and do research. But I have a link to this in my browser bar, so every time I do start up the computer, I take a quick peak. The babies are adorable. I love this streaming video. It seems they grow and change every time I take a look. Now, I see they will be fledging soon. I hope I get to see it. Carol, thank you so much for posting this!!!

I just saw the funniest thing ever on this Live Cam. I wondered why there was so much poop around the nest. I thought the Mom was cleaning it out of the nest. No! The babies just ate, then lifted themselves up and pooped out of the nest. Sorry if it sounds gross, but it was too funny to watch!
