What are Your Two Favorite Rock and Roll Songs of All Time?

Heard these the other day together, think that they're my favorites at least for right now:

"Who Do You Love" by Bo Diddley, a tale of hoodoo and testosterone with the Bo Diddley beat.

That's an interesting combination!

I love Jail House Rock, it's by far my favorite Elvis song.

I had the 45 of Hound Dog, and played it until is was unlistenable. I'm glad the Fat Man survived Katrina, that's a classic, classic song.

I remember seeing and hearing Elvis sing it live in 57 and also live performance the same year of Fats. Those were some great days. It was the year I got married.

Elvis was just getting started good at that time and had just come out with his first movie. I will always remember him singing, "Love Me Tender" in the movie and on stage. We all liked him and his music but for me personally, I loved Domino better for some reason and felt that he would outshine Elvis. I remember working at a service station during the summer of 1956 in Sealy, Texas where we serviced the road cars that Fats Domino and his band traveled in. They had these big black 48 af 49 model Chryslers that had huge white dominoes painted all over them. I remember comparing my car, which was a 47 Dodge, was black, and looked like the Chryslers except for the grillwork. Every time I hear Fats singing, I always remember those cars and seeing him inspect them with one of his band members when we finished servicing and washing them. As I said, good days.

Of course, "Venus," I believe by Frankie Avalon and "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong......oh yeah, and "You Light Up My Life" by Debby Boone......it was sung at my wedding!!!!!!!

Frankie was a very good 50's teen idol: he could actually sing.

Louis has a place in the pantheon for me. He's one of the fathers of jazz.

Debby Boone is a very guilty pleasure.

I loved Wilson Pickett! Love the rough timbre of his voice, and that scream could send chills down my back.

Clarence Carter did Patches too, but Slip Away was his best. Good Songs!

I love the Platters version of Harbor Lights. I also like The Flamingos - I Only Have Eyes For You! Just two favorites? I love Do Wop and the 50's had so many Great Groups and songs!

That version of I Only Have Eyes for you is my favorite.

I love that "Speedo and Mr. Earl" song, and a bunch from that era.

J. Paul Wilson? His hit, a good one. Lot's of 50's and early 60's songs about people dying in car crashes. My favorite is "Dead Man's Curve".

You can't have a list of great rock songs without KISS!
