Apparently iPad reading is cutting into TV time for many people in the U.S. Is this a good or bad thing? It seems somewhat shocking that reading has cut into primetime television, but that is what happened.
This new digital revolution is bringing reading back in a big way! Do you use your tablet for reading? If so, when do you normally spend the most time doing the most antiquated of pastimes? A new study found that the bulk of iPad reading comes between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. What a surprise that this new gadget is replacing evening boob tube watching!
Interestingly, it may not be that the TV has been replaced. Instead, it seems likely that the iPad has joined people on their couches during primetime watching hours. How do you do it? Are you multitasking in the evening in front of the television, or is the television simply not turned on as often now that you have other options. Â
The scary thing about the possibility that the iPad is cutting into TV time is that the ads may start coming with the ebooks in the near future. Hopefully this never happens, but it seems like something that could happen.
