It’s been so cold here in my spot of Texas that I have gone into hibernation for the duration of this severe cold weather. The last three days we’ve had lows in the upper teens at night and highs in the upper 30’s during the day. Today it got up to about 40 degrees so a heat wave is on the way … Woo Hoo!
I’ve been getting things ready for a move to my new house in about a month or so and I’m using part of my hibernation time in packing and sorting things for the move. I’ll write more about this in other articles. I’m discovering things that have been long forgotten. LOL!
Today I did just about as close to nothing as I could get which means that I have been watching movies all day. Not just any movies but “Rambo” movies. LOL! I love Sylvester Stallone as “Rocky” but Sylvester Stallone as “Rambo” is my very very favorite character played by him.
I started my “Rambo” marathon in order.
- “First Blood” (it didn’t have the Rambo name in the title)
- “Rambo, First Blood Part II”
- “Rambo III”
- “Rambo”
I’ve watched Rambo grow old over the years. In the last Rambo, simply titled “Rambo” he is middle aged, his muscles are still there but they are padded a bit with some extra girth around the middle. He still whips the bad guys almost single handedly and is still admired and respected for his bravery but for the most part he is still considered “expendable” because of his detachment from other humans. He’s a real loner!
Will there be another Rambo? Oh I hope so.
Maybe tomorrow I’ll have a “Rocky” marathon.
It’s supposed to warm up into the 50’s this weekend. Woo Hoo!

I know many vets and enlisted personnel who also do not have a liking for Rambo type films, peace and harmony is what they seek. I am with them 100%
I understand that not everyone likes action movies or Rambo but I doooooo, I loooooove Rambo! LOL! Rambo always sees to it that peace and harmony can exist .... LOL!
I guess I have missed some posts from you as I am not aware that you are moving. Are you leaving the Ft.Worth area? What's happening?
We have kind of hunkered down with the cold spell too. Will be glad for it to warm up.
I liked the Rocky series but have never been a Rambo fan. It is just too much violence for my taste.
I'm a real Rambo fan. I love action movies and Rambo movies are full of action. War is cruel and Rambo always defeats the enemy. Woo Hoo. Rambo movies always make me think of fighting evil in the spirit world. Evil attacks and God's people bring out the big Jesus guns loaded with His powerful undefeatable Blood and we put on Gods full armor and we blow them away... Woo Hoo. Rambo sometimes gets shot or wounded but he's never down for long. We have real live Rambo's serving in our military now. These men and women don't know that they are true Rambo’s and unlike the movie Rambo they are truly appreciated and loved. A big Woo Hoo to all our military men and women. Woo Hoo for Rambo.
Thank you for commenting and stay warm. It's beginning to warm up a little.
I am so very happy for you.

I'm just wondering what this Rambo marathon is going to do to your brain. Then again, maybe it will psyche you up for more packing.
When it all gets packed up, then it will all have to be unpacked .... but it will be worth it all. Woo Hoo for moving.
I did not even know there where that many Rambo movies. I think I lost track after the first two. I was more into the Rocky movies but a young Stallone in any movie is treat for the eyes.
Good luck with the packing, Lee. That would take me forever and a day!! Then you have to decide what is really worth keeping and what you should get rid of.........hard choices...
Thanks for commenting Kim, I appreciate it.
I'm not a fan of these movies.
I guess some people on Gather want to teach me a lesson and play stupid juvenile mind games. The lesson I've learned is not to trust such people and write them out of my life.
Now who on earth would want to play mind games with you? They would come up on the short end of the pier real fast ... the very idea is silly.
A lot of people don't like the Rambo movies or any other type of action war movies but I do ... I even like Arnold Schwarzenegger's old action movies ... they are almost as good as the Rambo movies (to me). LOL! I know a movie that you would like. Remember Somerset Maugham's book "The Painted Veil"? It's a mispent love story set in China during the time of a cholera epidemic that hollywood made into a movie. The movie varied a little from the book story, but stayed close enough that it was still recognizable and I think you would enjoy it. It also has Ed Norton in the lead role and he plays the role of the "done wrong" shy doctor/husband to perfection. If you haven't seen it then I think you would enjoy it.
