AJ McLean, also known as Alex or just AJ, has allegedly checked into rehab again. The Backstreet Boys band member was said to have been "out of control" in recent weeks and it's been interfering with plans of the guys getting ready for their tour with New Kids on the Block. McLean is no stranger to addiction.
AJ Mclean has had substance abuse problems in the past which include both alcohol and cocaine. He has actually spent time in rehab on two other occasions which were back in 2001 and 2002. He has been videotaped leaving bars completely wasted as well.
Celebrities going into rehab doesn't really seem to accomplish much but hopefully this guy can get it together. AJ McLean along with the Backstreet Boys are scheduled to go on tour with boy band New Kids on the Block, which is supposed to kick off this summer. The two bands recently performed together at the 2010 American Music Awards and again on New Year's Eve on the ABC network. Fans and guests in attendance seemed to welcome the bands performing together so hopefully AJ will get healthy and the show will go on.
AJ McLean hopes to become sober once and for all. He recently tweeted, "I love u all and wish me luck! I start my sober journey tomm!" That was on January 9th and then on the following day he tweeted, "See u on the other side!"
Let's hope rehab works for him - third time's a charm right?
