  What groups are non actice now? I really need to clean out the old and join some new.

i just left about 100 groups myself...
mostly christmas and "have to comment" groups

i deleted them one at a time. went to groups and then delete membership and then confirm.

Only way I know of is by opening each one. I started doing this a few days ago. Takes a long time this way. If you find an easier way let me know =)

I usualy see if the group creator is still ative. If the group creator is still active, I will stay within the group. I have only left maybe 4 or 5 groups as I have been very selective in where I can post any of my stuff. I have a few groups that never made it off the ground. I have also decided to close my weekly photo challenge group in exchange for my monthly photo challenge group. Coming up with all these different challenges and tasks has taken its toll.

all points is still going, but its been taking a back seat to some other stuff I have going on. I'll be sure to comment on everything there in the next couple days.

Have no idea.........I just start deleting if I decide I no longer have anything in common with a particular group or am just not interested in it anymore.

I wish there was an easier way. I agree that I probably need to go through mine as well...but it just seems so daunting. lol

The 'activity' of groups is really not very important.

For example, a 'post anything' group may receive 500 posts every day. Therefore, this group will appear to be very active. However, if no one visits the group to see your post (among the other 499 that were also published that day) , then the group is not benefiting you at all. In fact, it may actually be inhibiting the points you earn on the site!

When 'weeding out' groups, there are several factors you should consider, and (content) activity should not really be high on the list. If you would like to learn more, please let me know!

I usually look to see what dates are on the most recent "featured" poists and pictures....it's a good indication for me.

I've just always gone into them to check their activity or if its a group I don't post to regularly I delete it after a year.

I have been cleaning out my groups at sidetick and gather is next on my list. I see that I am a member of several sites that are not active at all. I am just going to go through each one individually and see what each group content is and if its not up to date I am leaving it. I have been checking on some of them recently and it is a big red flag when you see a group that has features from over a year ago....

I have many active groups. BUt there are a few that I will lose if I am the ONLY one posting.
If there is no "owner" and the 2 stars are one each side of the "owners name," then they have left gather and are "rudderless.". (At least I think it is 2 stars.)
