David Boreanaz has directed twice already on the hit Fox drama, Bones, and now he's going to take the reins yet again twice this season. His first directorÂ’s credit will be for the January 27th episode, which will be the seriesÂ’ return to a story line that has stretched over a few seasons of the show. It began when Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Hodgins (TJ Thyne) were kidnapped and buried alive in their car, moved over to Booth's kidnapping, and culminated with a trial episode.
The Gravedigger
Heather Taffet (Deidre Lovejoy), aka, the Gravedigger, will be returning to Bones this season, and things definitely aren’t going well for her. The Boreanaz-directed episode “opens with [her] being transported to court [but] before she makes it inside, she is targeted by a sniper.”
This is the episode that will begin the story arc that has been hinted at since last summer. It has also been said that this could be hitting hard for the character played by David Boreanaz, Seeley Booth, since he is also a sniper. There have been rumors that not everyone will survive the face-off with their next nemesis.
The photo TVGuide has released shows Boreanaz talking through a megaphone with a rally scene behind him—presumably the scene where Taffet is on her way to court. He described this episode as “challenging in terms of what you are allowed to show,” and said, “you want to make this show as dynamic as possible.”
Boreanaz has done a good job directing on Bones before; he was behind the camera for “The Bones That Foam” and “The Parts in the Sum of the Whole.” The second episode was the show’s 100th and also featured Boreanaz showing off his impressive acting skills as Booth finally gambled and asked Brennan to give them a chance.
Are you looking forward to David Boreanaz directing again and the Gravedigger returning on Bones?
