There have been some amazing funny news headlines over the years. They have lead to some epic failures and some gut shaking laughter. Before only newspapers had to worry about strange headlines, but now there are no shortage of funny headlines to be seen online as well. The constant 24 hour stream of news that people see every day often leaves them shaking their heads, asking “what” or laughing uncontrollably.
The really strange thing about the funny news headlines is that they were most likely completely unintentional. One such bolded mishap read “Tiger Woods Plays With Own Balls, Nike Says.” That is enough to certainly turn some heads, and of course it will illicit some snickers and giggles from almost anyone.
Another headline read “Police arrest everyone on February 22.” That is a little scary. Where did they put everyone? The jail probably isn’t that big. In yet another funny sports headline is “A-rod goes deep, Wang hurt.” Oh dear.
One that is a major duh said, “Federal Agents Raid Gun Shop, Find Weapons.” What were they expecting to find at a gun shop? Another problem headline read, “Missippi’s literacy program shows improvement.” Well, perhaps it didn’t show that much improvement since “Mississippi’s” was spelled wrong – oops!
Another eyebrow raising headline said, “Man executed after long speech.” Sure, you have probably wanted to execute a man after a long speech, but for that to be the reason for the execution seems highly unlikely. Apparently the Boston Globe wanted to start a new way to shorten lengthy speeches.
Perhaps this one was a plan to kill all the lawyers. The giggle inducing headline said, “Man accused of killing attorney receives a new attorney.” It must have been tough for the courts to find this man a new lawyer to kill.
Have you seen a funny news headline today? What is the funniest or strangest headline you have ever seen? Was it actually in a newspaper or online?
