Out two mountain volcanoes, Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea received some snow last evening...
Mauna Loa looked like the 'white mantle' came down pretty low this time, but it was so far away from my vantage point that the pictures didn't show up too well...but I did manage to get some shots of Mauna Kea from three different locations in Waimea.
Mauna Kea from just about 2 miles into Highway 190 on the way to Waikoloa
Mauna Kea from the back parking lot of the Kahilu Theater in Waimea
Pu'ukapu Road in Waimea just after the big turn on the way to the Hawaiian Halau (school) Ho'olako
How I wished I had had a zoom lens!

It's barely 60 here today - a cold winter in Florida with the evening temps getting near freezing, but not where I live.
Yet this morning its a bit warmer than yesterday morning....!
According to the news report there are 43 states under snow on the mainland....and now even Hawaii can join the list!
Here is a snowfall in December which I shared earlier - Snow in Hawaii
I love the one of the palm trees in foreground and snow covered mountain in back...
I've been up there when it was freezing also and with the wind blowing the chill factor can be pretty fierce...
Thanks for going back and looking at the Christmas tablescapes... they are such fun....but they can't compare to the ones featured in the Between Naps on the Porch blog!!! I love that blog!
