Materials:
Worsted weight yarn (approximate amounts):
1 1/2 oz of tan OR beige,
1 1/2 oz of black & red.
Scrap of white
US crochet hook size F
Polyfill
Yarn needle
Gauge- 4 sc = 1 inch, 4 sc rows = 1 inch
Finished size – approx. 9 inches sitting.
Notes: Do not join rounds unless indicated.
Mark round 1 of each section as right side.
Head:
Rnd 1: With tan and starting at top of head, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6
sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 7: (Sc in next 4sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (36 sc)
Rnd 8: (Sc in next 5sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (42 sc)
Rnds 9 - 15: Sc in each sc around.

Place front & back sections together with wrong sides facing.
With red, join through matching sc'c of each, ch 1, work a sc in same space as
joining and through each sc around until there are about 20 sts left open.
Stuff body firmly and continue to sc together until 9 sts remain open, work a sl
st in same st as last sc worked, fasten off. (There should be 9 open sc on each
front & back sections to equal the 18 sts of head opening)
Sew head to body opening. Add more filling in neck area if necessary before
closing.
Muzzle:
Rnd 1: With black, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: * 2 sc in each next 3 sc, sc in next 3 sc. Repeat from * once more. (18
sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in each next 3 sc, sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in each next 3
sc, sc in next 4 sc. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 6: Sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in next sc. Fasten off.
Sew muzzle to either center of head or off to the side over rnds 11 - 19, stuff
before closing.
With a length of black yarn, embroider eyes over muzzle. With a scrap of white
yarn add a highlight to the bottom of each eye.
Ears (make 2)
Row 1: With black yarn and starting a tip of ear, ch 3, 2 sc in 2nd ch from
hook, 2 sc in next ch, ch 1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 2: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Row 4: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Rows 5 & 6: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn.
(10 sc)
Row 7: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 8: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, DO NOT TURN.
Edging: Work 7 sc down edge of ear to starting ch, work 2 sc in each of next 2
chs, work 7 sc up side edge of ear, ch 1, join with a sl st to first sc of row 8.
Fasten off.
Sew ears to top of head. Fold ears down to the front.
Arms (Make 2)
Rnd 1: With tan yarn and starting at paw, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (9 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (12 sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (15 sc)
Rnds 5 & 6: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 7: (Sc in next 3 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (12 sc)
Rnd 8: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, change to
black yarn in last step of last sc, break off tan yarn. (9 sc)
Rnds 9 - 18: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 19: Sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Stuff arms and sew opening at top closed. Sew arms to upper sides of the front
section of body.
Legs (Make2)
Rnd 1: With tan yarn and starting at foot, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
Rnds 4: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 5: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (24 sc)
Rnds 6 & 7: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 8: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
Rnd 9: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 10: (Sc in next 4 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around, change to
black in last step of last decrease. Break off tan yarn. (15 sc)
Rnds 11 - 20: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 21: Sc in each sc around, join with a sl st in next sc. Fasten off.
Stuff legs and sew opening at top closed. Sew legs to lower front section of
body.
Finishing:
With black yarn embroider a daisy stitch down the center of back. With black
yarn embroider 3 spots on each side of back.
Alternate for daisy stitch: Embroider a line down the center of back.
Weave in all loose ends.
