My Poor Labrador!

Tonight hubby noticed a blood drop on the kitchen floor. Our first thought was that our lab had cracked a nail as he's done in the past.

Well, as we watched hubby saw another drop....from underneath him.

We lay him down to look at his belly and it looks like his boy parts are bleeding.

Hubby took him to the emergency vet and now I'm sitting at home waiting for him to get home with the news.

Since he's acting fine, other than bleeding, We're hoping its something simple, that Boomer may have scratched himself, as he often scratches his tummy with his back leg while he's standing up.

If he does need surgery it will surely deplete our meager savings, which is pretty much what we're LIVING off of right now.

Awwwww, sorry to hear about your Lab........glad to hear that your hubby was able to get him to an emergency vet and that it's just something minor. It's always so frightening when something happens to our beloved pets, as they can't tell us what's wrong.

We don't know if it is minor or not yet. It could be a scratch he gave himself, or it could be something more serious. Hubby is still at the vet with him. I won't know anything till he gets home.

I'm sorry to hear about this. My bet is that it's unlikely to be from a scratch. More likely a very bad kidney infection or perhaps some other more serious thing like bladder cancer :( I hope not! I'll have my fingers crossed that it's just an infection that can be cured with some antibiotics.
