What Was Your Name Supposed To Be?

I read once that your name says a lot about you and people even think of your differently when it comes to your name. Does  the name you were given fit you?? Right up until the last minute, my name was supposed to be Michelle. Dad changed it at the very last minute. I wonder how that affected me as a person??

Another person once came up to me and said... "you should have been named Debra!! Have no idea where that came from, but I have often wondered if there is a version of me in an alternate universe named Debra lol.

When living at home was known by my middle name and everyone knew me by that name. When I grew up found out that it wasn't my first name so I reverted to my first name. Am not sure if my name fits me per sé, but it seems pretty close enough :-)

My first husband was Larry, middle name Curtis. Named to honor the midwife who delivered him, Laura Curtis.

My name is what it should be and what it was always intended to be. It was odd at the time, because I was before my time. In the US there were not that many Heather's my age. I was named for a British Actress. It turns out that I have met another Heather on here who was also named for her.

I just asked my husband about a British Actress named Heather... not a clue. He is the king of trivia and I thought that he would guess it right off!

i think my name fits me. my mom started to name me Effie after an elerdly lady in the family. I like it, but dont think that would suit me.

HAHA, something to think about. Na I am used to people misspelling my name and saying what is your name again HAHA
As a kid I think I responded to hey you more than anything. My father could not remember my name haha! I was called by my older siblings name a lot! I think he was just getting me ready for the real world HAHA They shortened my name for a while.... tried to make it easier on everyone HAHA Though it confused the crap out of me when I got a little older....

Who knows maybe you do have a twin out there with that name? Never know....

I know I was suppose to be named Deanna but when I was born my mom ended up that Shaunee fit me better. She named my younger sister Deanna but her nick name is Dee. Like mine is Shaun

I was going to be named Beth. Which is a nice name, but I'm glad they went with Amber instead.

My parents weren't sure if I was going to be a girl or boy, so it was between Rebecca and Josh. I think they thought about Abby at one point though

I was always going to be Marilyn. When I was little, I was often called by my middle name, Kay and sometimes they called me Kay Kay. (I think that was because I was always saying, "M kay?" lol) When I was a teenager, I didn't think my name suited me so when I met new kids, I told them my name was Sandy. I never knew of another Marilyn as a young person (except for that famous one I was actually named after). Now I know at least four others personally! What's in a name? ;)

Funny you should bring that up... I was always changing my name as a teen too! It used to drive my mother nuts when someone would call and ask for me... different name lol

I don't think that the meaning of my name fits me, but I like my name. It technically means "Little Queen" and I am just not like that at all. Much more down-to-earth. I always liked it because it was unusual and when people call my name I can be about 99.9% sure who they are talking to!
