We went to see "Black Swan" today. It was hard seeing Natalie Portman looking so skinny. I've never liked the bones sticking out style of beauty. She certainly proved she's an actor to watch.
The previews skewed my way at looking at the movies. It's one of those times when I wished I hadn't seen or read anything about the movie.
It wasn't my choice of movie to see, so that might have been a factor, but I think that finishing the novel with a bi-polar heroine helped me think I needed to have a little less insanity going on. I enjoyed the book and learning about manic-depression, but after a few days, I needed something more cheerful.
The most astonishing part of the experience is that my son revealed he knew more about the plot of Swan Lake than I did. While I've never been a big ballet buff, he's never even seen one. I knew just the bare bones of the plot while he knew details.
