Actress Julia Stiles may have been linked to "Dexter" star Michael C. Hall, but she's denying that she was the reason for the divorce between Hall and his co-star wife, Jennifer Carpenter. There had been previous rumors suggesting that Stiles had an affair with Hall leading to the divorce. Julia Stiles is bringing an end to the celebrity gossip.
While Julia Stiles' character on 'Dexter' may have become close to the TV show's main character, it doesn't appear to be the same in real life. Julia Stiles recently set the record straight with Access Hollywood. She tells the entertainment site, "I have absolutely nothing to do with the split between Michael and Jennifer. We are good friends and enjoyed working together. This is a personal matter between them, and we should respect their privacy.
Although I too prefer to keep my private life, private – I felt compelled to dispel the rumors I was somehow the cause for this matter."
Just a day ago, Jennifer Carpenter filed her divorce papers in court to get divorced from Michael C. Hall. It had been revealed this past Monday that Hall and Carpenter were planning to divorce. The couple was married for over two years and doesn't have any children. Jennifer Carpenter is seeking spousal support and payment of her attorney fees from Hall.
On the Showtime series "Dexter," Julia Stiles had a recurring guest role as the character Lumen Pierce. She shared an on-screen romance with Michael C. Hall's character, Dexter Morgan. This added to the speculation that the two were sharing an off-screen romance as well. It's always easier to gossip when two celebrities are seen making out on television, but it should never be the basis for news reports. Ironically, it was some great acting between Julia Stiles and Michael C. Hall on the show, because both are up for Golden Globe awards too.
