Are you ready American Idol fans? January will be here before you know it, and the season is currently being filmed. Some new spoilers have now been revealed along with a new poster that was released this week. The poster features the new judges for this season, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, with Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson also included.

Filming just wrapped up in the newly extended Hollywood round. The sixty singers left in the competition spent part of this week in Las Vegas as they performed Beatles tunes on stage accompanied by a live band. By the end of the Vegas trip, only forty singers remained.
Jennifer Lopez said the following about the Vegas experience on Tuesday: "You really get to see who are the performers and who is not going to be the performers. It's proving very difficult to chop it down. We're in that place where everybody's so good, it's like, 'Who do we send home?' It gets harder every day. The 15- and 16-year-olds really have been some of the biggest surprises to us and the ones who have really blew us away."
There are a lot of changes in store for American Idol fans this season. Some of those changes include the shifting of nights of the week to Wednesday and Thursday and the possibility of Internet voting. Music video creation and promotion has also been added into the mix for season ten.
All these changes are the work of Nigel Lythgoe. He returned to the series earlier this summer after focusing only on So You Think You Can Dance for a few years. However, he had his start with Fox running things behind the scenes for Idol.
It will be interesting to see what these new changes do for the series. Will it revive the reality competition and update it to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of the music industry? Or will it end up being too much change for the fans of the series to handle? The only way to know the answer to those questions is to watch the season unfold. Idol returns to Fox in January.
