So what happens in the world of a young pop country music superstar when she finally hits the ultimate age of adulthood? Well when Taylor Swift turns 21-years-old, she celebrates with Pink's music and a pizza party. Nothing too extravagant for the young singer behind the top selling recent album "Speak Now." Did she at least get to celebrate with Jake Gyllenhaal on her b-day though?
Unfortunately not for her birthday, CNN reports. Swift had spent several days out in Los Angeles with current beau Jake Gyllenhaal prior to Sunday. She tweeted that on Sunday she stayed in her new Nashville condo, noting she also danced around in her room alone to Pink's Greatest Hits CD. Several of her bandmates dropped by with a birthday pizza pie complete with 21 candles to make her feel extra special.
While Gyllenhaal was not there for her actual birthday, it's likely the couple will have plenty of reason to celebrate. Gyllenhaal was among the recent Golden Globe nominees for 2011 for his acting performance in the movie "Love & Other Drugs."
Taylor told a Nashville radio station, that she was pretty limited in terms of how she could celebrate her birthday. That's because Nashville was blanketed by snow on her 21st birthday. As for reaching the milestone age, Taylor said:
"I don't feel older all of a sudden. It's a state of mind thing, how you see the world, being excitable, staying excitable and impressionable and doing your best not to become jaded or bitter. I think keeping your mind and your heart open keeps you young."
Great advice from Swift, who continues to be the type of role model that Miley Cyrus is struggling to be. While people are allowed to engage in any activities they want realistically (as long as they're legal), Swift seems content with being humble, down-to-earth and not pushing the limits. On the other hand, Miley Cyrus' recent bong smoking video incident shows that the 18-year-old may need some intervention before her life and career goes awry!
