Jennifer Grey, winner of this season's "Dancing with the Stars" competition, has undergone successful back surgery to repair a ruptured disk. The surgery took place last week, and was deemed a total success.
According to People Magazine, Jennifer Grey was operated on at the D.I.S.C. Sports and Spine Center i
n Marina del Rey, California. Her surgeon, Dr. Robert Bray, Jr., removed a fragment from her back and she is doing extremely well.
"I'm still recovering at home. I have to rest a bit more, but I feel great – completely pain free,"  she says.
Grey has been resting at home since shortly after the surgery, and continues to make incredible progress, given the fact that she is 50 years old.
Watching Jennifer Grey glide across the dance floor with what appeared to be effortless grace and style, one would never imagine that she had been suffering excruciating pain from the ruptured disc several times during the "DWTS" competition. Like a true dancer, she sucked it up and held it in, directing her body to perform.
Dr. Bray says there isn't anything that Jennifer Grey won't be able to do following her successful back surgery. She will soon return to pilates, dance, exercise, and most anything else she opts to try. The doctor does acknowledge, however, that even if he put restrictions on Grey with regard to her post surgical activities, it might be all in vain.
"...with Jennifer, when she sets her mind to something, there's no stopping her," the doctor says.
And that is more than plain to see, from her diligence and expertise that served her all the way to the Mirror Ball on this season's "Dancing With the Stars."
