My sister's dog has skin cancer

My sister has the cutest rat terrier.  She is 10 years old and a sun bather.  She hardly has any fur, so she is often seen laying in the warm sun to keep warm.  Well I guess all those years of being in the sun can cause skin cancer in dogs as well as humans.  She took it to the vet a few months ago and paid a lot of money for surgery to remove the tumor.  The Dr. recommended that she put suntan lotion or a t shirt on her when it's a sunny day.

Now less than 4 months later the tumor seems to be coming back.  My sister is so upset because she spent so much money a few months ago on the surgery and is trying to find money to do it again.

For those of you with dogs that have little fur please be careful of too much exposure to the sun.  We often put suntan lotion on our children, but please be sure to remember your dogs as well.

I hope they can find the money for another surgery.  That dog has been a part of their life for the past 10 years and they are so sad to find out this bad news.
