All good things eventually come to an end and by the end of the 2011 television season, "The Closer," will be airing its last episode.
Star of the show, Kyra Sedgwick, made the decision to conclude the series after the 15-episode, seventh and last season. By that time, the program would have 100 wonderful episodes behind it.
When asked why a show that has some of the best rated episodes on cable is coming to an end the network, TNT, responded, "The difficult decision to conclude the series with season seven was made by Kyra Sedgwick."
Eonline reported that the head of Turner Network, Steven Koonin said, "It's impossible to fully express our appreciation to Kyra Sedgwick, series creator, James Duff and all of the other talented people who brought "The Closer" to TNT viewers."
The last season is going to start filming this coming spring and will be airing during the summer months. It will be very hard to say goodbye to our favorite southern-belle character, Brenda Leigh Johnson, who was brought to life by the very talented actress, Kyra Sedgwick.
It's always a good idea to end a television show while the public craves more of it but we're going to miss this well-written series and hope that Brenda will make a guest appearance on another crime procedural program in the near future.
