Barbara Walters' annual special The Ten Most Fascinating People aired last night. Although we knew many of her picks for the most fascinating of 2010, we didn't know who her top pick would be.
On this
year's list was Princess-to-be Kate Middleton, the Jersey Shore cast, tween sensation Justin Bieber, and new American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, to name a few. However it was Walters' number one pick that really was the most fascinating. Walters chose General David Petraeus.
Petraeus has led US troops and fought for our country long and hard. He's a man of great compassion, a man of hope and courage. He is more than fascinating and we're super glad that Walters chose him.
The rest of her list was a bit boring. Sandra Bullock and Betty White should be on every year - does that make them fascinating? Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg also made the list, and we'll give her that one. LeBron James ... really? Fascinating? Not sure we understand the thought train on that one!
Anyway, back to General Petraeus. "Walters dubbed him 'an American hero' for his efforts in the embattled region" (MTV). And an American Hero he is.
