Bristol's Response to Keith Olbermann

I love what Bristol Palin said to Keith Olbermann on her Facebook page:

 

What Mr. Olbermann lacks in originality he makes up for with insincere incredulity. Mr. Olbermann fails to understand that in order to have credibility as a spokesperson, it sometimes takes a person who has made mistakes. Parents warn their children about the mistakes they made so they are not repeated. Former gang members travel to schools to educate teenagers about the risks of gang life. Recovered addicts lecture to others about the risks of alcohol and drug abuse. And yes, a teen mother talks about the benefits of preventing teen pregnancy.




I have never claimed to be perfect. If that makes me the "worst person in the world" to Mr. Olbermann, then I must apologize for not being absolutely faultless like he undoubtedly must be.

Bristol is absolutely right.  When my son was a teen, a young 20 something woman came to speak to his youth group about abstinence.  She was what they call in Christian circles, a "re-virgin".  She had made mistakes and was going around the country to talk to young people about those mistakes.

 

 

People listen more to those who have "been there, done that" than they do to parents or teachers.  It makes perfect sense for Bristol to speak to teens about what it's like to be a teen mother and to warn them.

The left-leaning MSNBC host recently suspended for donating money to political candidates picked Bristol Palin as his "Worst Person in the World" Monday night for a public service announcement she did two weeks ago promoting abstinence.

You know, this is the first I had heard of any if this, but it always amazes me when people want information other than what the post is about and demand that the author of the post supply them with information they want. I think I need to start a series on How to Google Your Way Around the WWW. I vaguely remember some standardized test questions years ago, probably in grade school, that asked what source you would need to access for finding certain answers to questions. I always thought they were so silly because I wondered who wouldn't know. I now know they're probably many of the same people who can't google.

That cookbook selection was the tricky one, I guess. :)

Thanks, Sue. You're a doll. I'm always amazed at the lefties who demand proof other than what we've provided too. Sometimes I tell them they can Google it themselves, then they claim that somehow making them do their own homework means the story is bogus. Grrr.
Well, it so belongs with that Rush/caller transcript you put up yesterday. I also wondered what he had actually said, and clicked the link in your post. This article, like so many others, was about Bristol's reply. The link's information didn't really tell us exactly what Olbermann said. So what does it take to google Olbermann and Candie's foundation Bristol attack or some such variation to find what you want? It's much easier to claim the story is bogus, especially if you're google challenged. Same basic story as the Rush caller.

Yeah. All the articles talk about how Olbermann called Bristol the worst person in the world, which I guess is his favorite label to put on people with whom he disagrees. Isn't that just like a liberal too?
The Olbermann attack is even like the Rush caller. They just put things together in such a way that makes no sense, but in this case, Olbermann may even know it makes no sense. It makes no difference because he knows his Liberal audience will never figure that out so he says it anyway.


OLBERMANN: "She's the Candie's spokesperson for abstinence? She and her son? Because it's got to work this time? This is like saying George Bush kept us safe, except for that 9/11 thing which doesn't count. Bristol Palin, abstinence role model, this time, today's Worst Person in the World."

It's such a bad analogy on so many levels, but it includes George Bush bashing and Palin bashing, so that's plenty enough to pad the ratings.

I read an article here on Gather yesterday that said that Bristol didn't write that on her page. They said that her mother's writers wrote it. lol

The paragraph that you included in the article starts with, "Accusing me of hypocrisy is by now, an old canard." They claim that Bristol isn't smart enough to use a word like canard so it had to be someone else who wrote that response.

I swear, the lefties sure are obsessed with the Palins. I read on Drudge that the FCC has recieved complaints that Bristol lasted so long on the show Dancing With The Stars. What a hoot!

What is the FCC supposed to do about someone, anyone, lasting too long on a dance contest program? That IS a hoot.

You know, this may be one of the major reasons that they started 911 for general emergencies. I don't think they had questions like that on standardized tests years ago, so maybe the Liberals never learned who to contact for problems either.

They should have taught them and tested them with questions like this:

When a fire breaks out in your home because the TV short circuited, who do you call?

A. The electrician
B. The fire department
C. The FCC
D. The drugstore
E. All of the Above
F. None of the Above

Oh, that's priceless. Complain to the FCC because Bristol lasted too long on Dancing with the Stars? Liberals are sooooooooo funny, really.

And, I notice that "they" said that the words were written by Palin's writers, not Sarah herself....'cause "they" think she's stupid too. But, as I've pointed out in another post, being "too stupid to be president" puts her in a big group of folks that the libs claimed were also too stupid - some of whom actually won. :-)

Keith Olberman is a self-righteous SOB who's speaking from the standpoint of a man. Some people have to learn the hard way,and Bristol Palin is a case in point. She's giving anyone who will listen a taste of the lemomade she's made,and hoping they remember the taste.
