Amber Heard comes out at GLAAD event

Actress Amber Heard has come out as a lesbian.

You may recognize the actress from the film Pineapple Express. While the wholesome blond has only done a handful of films to date, she has done something else that's not only good for her, but it's good for mankind. Heard, 24, attended a GLAAD event with her partner Tasya van Ree. This young Hollywood actress took a stand and wasn't ashamed to admit that she was gay. It's people like Heard that give us hope that someday sexual orientation won't make headline news.

Heard said "GLAAD is one of the many reasons that I, as a 24-year-old, can come out" (via Us Weekly). When asked about photographer/artist girlfriend, Tasya van Ree, Heard replied, "She is beautiful. I mean, you'd have to be crazy not to want to go out with her!" The two have been dating since 2008.

Heard is starring in the upcoming film The Rum Diary alongside brilliant actor, Johnny Depp.
