I’m sure by now you’ve heard about this supposedly new life form. This bacteria actually has arsenic in its DNA. No other life form that we know uses this element in this manner. I’ve seen and read that some people feel that this organism points to an independent origin of life. Some have proclaimed that God had nothing to do with it. There is no evidence to suggest that this bacteria is a part of some Godless creation. We know that life can exist in extreme locations.
In the Pacific ocean not too far away from the Galapagos Islands, there are chimneys, deep ocean vents, that release water that is not only super-heated but are also toxic to most life. Still, life manages to have a hold here. Colonies of giant tube worms, shrimps and mussels as well as other life forms all manage to have a foot hold here. Sunlight cannot reach these chimneys, so what feeds these colonies of animals. The life here gets its energy from hydrogen sulfide. The bacteria here use these toxic sulfur compounds to sustain itself. Believe it or not some 300 new species have been found near these vents. Even the tubeworms are unique. The tube worms are able to absorb the hydrogen sulfide directly into the body where the bacteria live. When the bacteria feed on the hydrogen sulfide, they release carbon compounds which the worms use for nourishment. Life has been found in places that don’t seem to be able to support life as we know it. I am not sure what this suggests to others I can only saw what it suggests to me.
It suggests to me that this world is greatly blessed. I believe that many more marvels await us in places that we just haven’t thought of looking. Life on our planet wouldn’t be here if we were in a different place in our galaxy. I believe in a combination of creation and evolution. Those who choose to believe in the creation know that God made all life, yet some people simply will not allow the theory of evolution to exist within their little world. If you look at our history, there have been numerous times when species have died off from natural causes ie… floods, asteroid impacts, or climate changes. Simply put life has moved forward, and it is my hope that we will not cause life to move backwards.

I love science. I do reject most of evolution, but on scientific grounds. I love the Lord but know He could have created us any way He chose. So I don't think it is a threat to our belief in Him. But I love reading something that doesn't trash a belief in God. :):) I don't think the idea of His existance need threaten the scientific society either.
Romans 1:18-23 jumped off the page at me a few yeas ago. God is saying that He, Himself, has revealed Himself and His whole character to man through His creation so that man has no excuse for not acknowledging Him. Loved it. To me it gives great import to all our scientists today that are studying in there fields of expertise and passing the info on to us. We have two books. The Bible and Science :):)
