Can Jodie Foster save Mel Gibson's movie career with this weird, wacky but interesting movie about a depressed man who communicates with his family through a beaver puppet?Â
"Foster directed the film in which she and Gibson play a couple whose marriage falls apart because of his depression. A toy executive, Gibson's character makes a beaver puppet his alter ego, alienating his wife and kids and business associates even more. But ultimately the furry puppet helps lead him back to the people he loves."
"The Beaver" was made before his girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, released audiotapes of Gibson having a meltdown. Jodie Foster and Summit Entertainment have put the movie into production, and Jodie Foster stands behind Gibson.
She doesn't abandon a friend in need. They became friends when they acted together in "Maverick." They have been good friends ever since. Now, with the release of this silly but entertaining movie, "The Beaver," will Mel Gibson's career may be resurrected with Foster's help.
Not everyone believes the tapes are that of Mel Gibson, and many believe Grigorieva did a hatchet job on his career. So will this movie about a depressed man save the Gibson from true depression? Jody Foster may be Gibson's real beaver that saves his life and career.

I have no sympathy for a woman who targets a rich married man. And as far as his drinking and potty mouth, she had to know that before she went out with him. The whole world knows he has a drinking problem and a potty mouth.... for the various incidents related to all on the news.
I hope he gets help, I hope she is seen for what she is, and I hope the public will still see him as a great actor.
