I grew up on comedy and comedians. Maybe when you had the kind of life I had you appreciated anyone who could make you smile. When I was little it was Bill Cosby. Bob Bromfield in the Cincinnati Enquirer. You get older in your teens and it was George Carlin and Cheech and Chong. On TV it was Carol Burnett, Tim Conway, Flip Wilson, Jonathon Winters, The Smothers Brothers, and  Laugh-In.

And there was this lady.

I loved all the"aging" jokes she told on herself! Most of those you mentioned were able to take tiny little mundane stuff and show the humor.

it really was a golden age of comedy, wasn't it?...i failed to mention richard pryor who i thought was brilliant...him and george carlin (and carol burnett and the host of people she had, tim conway, et al) actually taught us about life while we were laughing...
