Number 6 in the series of Detective J.P. Beaumont of the Seattle Police Department. This time while on a strange vacation ( he is being a tech supervisor for a movie being filmed.), he finds a body floating nearby. Not being on the job, he not on the case. But when a young lady fall off a building, he gets gut feeling these two cases are connected.
He gets in trouble with his own dept because he doesn't take the easy way out. Beaumont tends to step on people toes. Since he became independently wealthy, he can go out on a limb. His own personal motto is to protect and serve. I have a feeling he will soon be an ex-detective that helps others when no one will.
