Thanksgiving - a time for Butterball turkeys, cooking marathons, football watching, pumpkin pie, and, of course, giving thanks. But, while America celebrates Thanksgiving 2010 and puts those Butterball turkeys in the oven, one of Tinseltown’s most famous couples, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and their brood are not embracing the Thanksgiving holiday.
There’s no sign of a Thanksgiving 2010 celebration with the Jolie-Pitt clan, as Angeline Jolie “hates this holiday and wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans,†according to Popeater. “Angelina gets so grossed out by Thanksgiving that she made sure her family will not be in America this year on Thursday.â€
Well, if any Hollywood actress were to boycott Thanksgiving for a reason other than a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle, it would be the sometimes controversial, always strong-willed Angelina Jolie with Brad Pitt surely by her side (or at least pretending to support Angelina’s fervent opinions).
“To celebrate what the white settlers did to the native Indians, the domination of one culture over another, just isn’t her style. She definitely doesn’t want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder,†says a friend of Angelina Jolie.
So, where will Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt find themselves on their not-Thanksgiving Day? Definitely not the U.S. of A., it seems. Angelina has been filming her directorial debut, about a love story between a Serbian man and Bosnian woman during the Bosnian War, in Budapest and Bosnia. Wonder if they’ll spend the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in one of those places. Or perhaps, Angelina and Brad will jet off to France for some savory crepes and soufflés - hold the turkey.
