Holidays are such a special time filled with love, joy, and long standing traditions. We want to know all about your meaningful holiday tradtions that take place every year.
Take the “Meaningful Traditions Survey” below:
What's your favorite holiday song? All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey
What's your technique for decorating your tree? I don't really have one. I just put on the garland, then ornaments.
What's your favorite holiday recipe to cook? I usually don't do much cooking. But, I do love making deviled eggs.
What do your kids most love about the holidays? That would have to be opening presents, of course. And, getting time off school.
What's on your holiday list this year? Mostly it is stuff for the kids. I only want one thing. That is, a gift card, like I get every year.
How do you capture precious moments? Do you use a camera, video-camera, journal, etc? I always use a camera. Taking tons of pictures, and also take a bit of video as well.
What's one of your favorite family traditions? That would be cooking dinner and eating it with relatives.
Who do you spend the holidays with? That would be hubby and kids for the first part. Then other family members later.
What's your favorite ornament? The ones that we bought for our kids with their names on them.
How do you teach your children about the spirit of giving? By teaching them about giving all year around, that way, they will automatically just give all by themselves.
What would you like to see in your stocking this year? The same thing that is in it every year. Candy!
How do you help those less fortunate during the holidays? I really should do more to help others, but, I do give old clothes to Goodwill.
How early do your kids wake up for Christmas morning? Usually about 8 or 9 in the morning.
Does it snow where you live? If so, how much? I live in Ohio, so yes, we get snow at least two or three months out of the year. It can be as much as 2-5 inches.
What's your favorite part of Christmas? That would have to be, being with my family, eating good food, and watching my kids open presents.

"How do you teach your children about the spirit of giving?"
is worth answering and my answer is this:
"I believe a man's greatest possession is his character and that no calling bestows this more abundantly than community service.
I believe hard work, honest sweat and 'Service above Self' are the building blocks of a person's character.
I believe that community service is the most honest and honourable way a man can spend his days on this earth.
I believe community service nurtures the friendships that make life rich in ways money can't buy.
I believe my children are learning values that will last a lifetime and can be learned in no other way than by example.
I believe that by my toil I am giving more to the world than I am taking from it; an honour that does not come to all men.
I believe my life will be measured ultimately by what I have done for my fellow man, and by this standard I fear no judgement.
I believe when a man grows old and sums up his days, he should be able to stand tall and feel pride in the life he's lived.
I believe in Rotary because it makes all these things possible."
But, I'm glad you took the time to answer them Allen.
