Christmas Stocking Scarf
Materials:
Worsted weight yarn:
About 2 oz of red and small amount of white
Yarn needle
Crochet Hook Size G (US)
Pattern Notes:
This pattern will require light blocking when completed.
Pattern is worked in 2 panels that are joined together on last stocking of 2nd panel.
Right side of stocking = toes facing towards the right.
First Panel:
First Stocking
Row 1: With red yarn, ch 4, 2 sc in 2nd chain form hook, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc,
ch 1, turn. (5 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 2, turn. (7 sc)
Row 3: 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, then work a sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc,
ch 1, turn. (10 sc)
Rows 4 & 5: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 6: Sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, do not chain 1, turn. (9 sc)
Row 7: Skip first sc, sl st in each next 3 sc, ch 1, sc in same st as last sl st and in each remaining
sc across, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rows 8 - 10: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 11: Sc in each sc across, changing to white in last step of last sc, ch 1, turn. Fasten off red.
Row 12: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (8 sc)
Row 13: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 14: Sc in each sc across, do not ch 1, turn.
Row 15: Skip first sc, sl st in each next 2 sc, ch 3, skip next 2 sc, sl st in next sc, skip next sc, sl st in last sc, faten off.
First stocking complete.
Stockings # 2 - 6:
Row 1: With right side of stocking facing, join red yarn in the ch 3 space of rnd 15 of last stocking worked.
Ch 1, work 5 sc in same ch space, ch 1, turn. (5 sc)
Rows 2 - 15: Work as for rows 2 - 15 of first stocking.
Weave in loose ends.
Second Panel:
Stockings 1 - 5: Repeat as for first panel.
Stocking # 6:
Work as for the 6th stocking of the first panel until you reach row 15.
Then work it as:
Skip first sc, sl st in each next 2 sc, ch1, sl st into ch 3 space of 6th stocking of first panel,
ch 1, sk next 2 sc of 6th stocking of 2nd panel, sl st in next sc, sk next sc. sl st in last sc, fasten off.
Weave in loose ends.
