Prince William and Kate Middleton Engaged, Buckingham Palace Announces

Well, it is official. The Prince of Wales announced at Buckingham Palace that Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged. Prince William is second in line to be the King of England.

The engagement actually took place on a safari in Kenya in October. The 10 day safari was a celebration of the Prince's graduation for the Royal Air Force search and rescue school. Early reports state that Prince William sought and received permission from Ms. Middleton's father, Michael Middleton.

Prince William and Ms. Middleton have been an "off and on" item for about nine years. The British press corps has been hot on this story for years, looking for any hint as to the status of the couple's relationship.

Hang on to your hats, and prepare for the upcoming media frenzy!

I know and it seems just yesterday Prince Charles and Princess Diana were announcing his birth :( He's grown into a seemingly fine young man.

Yes, it's a bit hard for those of us who live in the UK to keep finding people using the term 'England' for those of us who live in the other constituent parts! How'd you like to be called Mexican or Canadian, just because you live on the same land-mass?! ;)
