Eric Johnson and Jessica Simpson Engaged

Eric Johnson, former NFL football player, asks for singer/actress Jessica Simpson’s hand in marriage. The couple has been dating for about 7 months. Jessica’s dad, Joe Simpson, confirmed rumors of the engagement via Twitter. Mr. Simpson provided his blessing to the couple and publicly wished them a happy and prosperous life. It seems like Joe may have let the cat out of the bag a littler earlier than the couple wanted. But hey, that’s show business!

Jessica started wearing a gorgeous ruby and diamond ring, which started the rumor mills to start spinning. Engagement speculations flew until confirmed by Joe Simpson’s Tweet. Jessica was also spotted in a Kansas City department store with the bling on her finger. She was there to promote her clothing line and she signed autographs for fans.

Eric Johnson used to play for the San Francisco 49ers. Jessica Simpson is a singer turned actress, fashion designer and television personality. Her most famous songs include “I Wanna Love You Forever”, “Irresistible”, and a remake of “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’”. Jessica portrayed the sexy Daisy Duke in the 2006 The Dukes Of Hazzard.

Both lovebirds have been married before. Most famous was the marriage of Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, whose wedding life was portrayed on MTV’s The Newlyweds.
