I am glad you found it interesting. I wonder how deep the water will have to be before a majority catch on.
It's rather unfortunate that man's first reaction to anything off the status quo is to fearfully deny it. I keep thinking of that oft-used line "Houston, we have a problem." The Apollo 13 astronauts and the entire ground crew and every engineer associated with the space program put their wits into finding a solution to get them home alive. Imagine what would have happened if instead they had channeled the Black Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail movie - "don't worry, Houston, it's just a flesh wound."
Being responsible means identifying a problem and dealing with it. Being irresponsible is screaming hoax on a warming planet.
That said, there are other polls that show the majority lines up with the scientists.
Polling Report
Stanford Poll: Large majority of Americans support government solutions to global warming
And, of course, there are the usual problems with public opinion polls on scientific issues.
But the more important "poll" is a scientific survey of the most active climate scientists, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
But, of course, it's the public opinion polls, which get media coverage.
