A young girl has taken her own life after being bullied at her high school.
Samantha Kelly committed suicide after being ridiculed for accusing a senior at her high school of raping her. "The weeks of harassment eventually became too much. Samantha went home from school Monday and hanged herself in this community southwest of Detroit" reports The Huffington Post.
There once was a time where kids would get teased in school and they would just go home and cry about it. The best solution they could come up with was fake being sick so they could go home, or eat lunch in the guidance counselor's office. Now, kids are finding that the pain is unbearable and suicide is a very real option.
It's hard not to believe that the more kids who are successful in killing themselves causes copy cat events. If one kid does it, the next kid thinks that's an option and that it's "easy." There is nothing anyone can do about this unfortunately. Parents need to really listen to their children - a message that Marie Osmond recently talked about on Oprah.
