With a mix bag of politicians now having been elected, do you feel anything will be accomplished, or do you feel as I do, that we will be at a stalemate, in getting various important issues resolved?
As an American citizen who cares about thier country, I hope there is no gridlock! Theres nothing to love about the American people getting screwed once more!
Well when I was young the biggest story in the news during the 90s was gridlock. The government was shut down 3 times because nobody could agree on spending and now everybody talks about those being the golden years. It's amazing how much better America is when the leaches are in a stalemate. I really hope the government gets shut down and nothing gets done.
I doubt 2010 will ever be considered golden years. I respect your concern and understand your point about congressional duties but they don't do what they are paid to do anyways so nothing is better than spending a trillion dollars only to find out that there is no such thing as shovel ready jobs.
Yes it is indeed scary! Whats scarier is if too many Americans get fed up and begin to fight the government. I had a nightmare that there was civil unrest throughout American, and people were rioting in droves. People were attacking politicians, and storming the White house. Now I know this was just a bad dream, but I have a fear that in my lifetime something like this happening. Maybe my fear is unfounded, and I pray it is. But it seemed so real.
I agree with you on the point that going back and forth between the parties, is not the answer, and should be obvious by now. The never ending cycle seems to continue. Lies and misconceptions thrown out by politicians, still seem to get votes. People need to wake up, and realize that a pattern is there. If any other person tells you the same crap over and over, most common sense people would realize that they are not to be believed. Why can't most people see that with politicians who run for office? I promise this, I promise that, and the beat goes on. It is evident, actually more than evident, that they will not deliver if its not in THIER best interest. They need to see, that we the American people will no longer stand for it! We need to shake them in thier boots, and show them we will no longer accept your word, and look elsewhere for leadership. I pray that Americans will wake up, and there is never a civil war against our government. But if we continue to see the lack of leadership within our country continue, so many will have lost everything, and feel they have nothing left to lose, and that anger in all proberbility, may result, in what I and I'm sure others fear most, and thats civil unrest.
I really hope there is no gridlock, but that's what I see happening. Campaigning for the elections was pretty nasty this year, I just hope they learn to put differences aside and work on what's best for the people.
I know it's never going to stop, never thought it would. I just think it would be better for everyone to put the bs aside and work together to get shit done.
It's a never ending circle. We elect the guy who seems like less of a liar, we don't like what he does/doesn't do, so we move on to the next one, and he turns out to be more of a jack@$$ then the last one. Never ends
A pattern is there. One that can not be denied. As Jim stated "lies, negativity, and rabble-rousing works." And we Americans fall for it like fools each and everytime! Politicians have used this method, and have suceeded with it for years. Why give up what works? To me most aren't any better than a used car salesman. More Americans need to stand up to theses politicians, and tell them we are tired of the lies. Many more need to become more educated to see through these lies, and become better voters.
Too many sheep allowing themselves to be led over a cliff. I find with utter amazement what some believe to be gospel truth. Question for you, as you are obviously more political minded than I. Has an independant ever been elected into office? I cannot remember in my lifetime there being one, but I may be wrong. My reasoning is could we possibly serve our country better by voting independant, and showing the two major parties, that we have had enough! I don't know if the same political crap would continue or not, as I see other issues that need to be addressed before we actually can see our country, being salvaged. Such as term limits for congressmen to mention one.
The republicans will prove they are less honorable than what I flush down the toilet by doing countless money wasting investigations against Prez Obama that will go nowhere. They don't care about the people.
I have seen enough in my lifetime to realize its time for us the American people to wake up! We need real leadership and not a boatfull of crap. I can't say what would be the best method, for making this happen, but something has to give.
I agree, and have thus been doing so. I don't try to sway people to my convictions, I just mearly point out a few things and let them think. Some seems to agree. So who knows. Personally I think in time more people will wake up.
I don't see anything but massive corruption in both major parties. The average American has his/her vote bought by whomever tells the best lie on TV commercials. Some say it doesn't affect them, but statistics don't lie and money is the disgraceful language of getting elected in this country. The average American voter in this country do no research about the candidates privately and are just basic ignorant lemmings. I won't vote for either major party. I believe the corruption has destroyed our government.
There can be no denying that corrupton has indeed destroyed this country, or at least torn it down. I do see however more people as time marches on, becoming more educated. If for no other reason, then out of frustration, to where our country is now going. When politicians do nothing but sling mud, instead of offering what they will do to make things better, then its because they have nothing to offer. And yes money talks....and well, we all know how the rest of that story goes. To me at this point, and I must admit, I am not as politically adversed as some, but I feel we need to clean up congress more than anything. Give coporations less power, and tackle these lobbist, to begin even seeing a chance at getting our country back on the right track.
These politicians are just people who want thousands of dollars for just sitting down and saying, yea or nah. I would love to have that kind of job, just doing nothing and take people's tax money to line my pockets. Isn't that the American dream, NOT! My father told me before he died, that he said that a Civil War will come and will be the "Poor against the Rich" and when that happens, markets will crash. Its terrible when politicians make the laws in this country and all of them protects the guilty and not the innocents. It all has a loop hole for the "Rich" to get out of paying lots of money. ' The policitians talk about not having enough money to do anything, uh, take a pay cut man. Make all the policitians live on only 100,000 a year. I think thats fair enough. There are people who have nothing that makes what money they do have last all week or month. Just because you want that expensive house, watch, jewelry, that new BMW, give me a break. You don't need all of that, just do with little not alot. Then maybe they will learn that people who don't have money, need it more than they do.
They certainly should be making less then they do. Its not bad enough thier salaries are grossly overflated, and the money and perks they make through corruption add to that. We the taxpayers pay through the nose, for what little they do, or not do, and should have a say in it. Voting them in or out, should not be the only option. Anyone else when hired doesn't do thier job accordingly gets the boot. Hell they can get pay raises, they vote on. Again at our expense. Then they cry buget cuts, where we the taxpayers again get the shaft. If they had to live like the adverage American, they wouldn't know which end is up.
