Next summer, season 4 of Torchwood will premiere on Starz and the BBC One. Â With the subtitle, The New World, the series will take the only two series regulars still alive, Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) and Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) on a global adventure.
Recurring Character Cast; Regular Characters Not Yet Chosen
Michael Ausiello has reported on Deadline that the science fiction drama series has cast one of the new recurring characters of Torchwood.  Arlene Tur (Crash) will be surgeon Vera Juarez.  Meanwhile, there had been news that Chad Michael Murray of One Tree Hill or Enver Gjokai of Dollhouse could play the new male series regular.  However, it turns out that's no longer the case.  But this is probably a good thing.  Could you really see either one of them on Torchwood?  Chad Michael Murray is known mostly for his roles in series on the WB and CW (Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls) and movies that haven't exactly been blockbuster hits (House of Wax anyone?).  Could you really see him running around with Jack and Gwen chasing aliens?  Unfortunately, though he is a good actor, that is hard to picture.  On the other hand, Enver Gjokai does have experience in the science fiction drama with his role on Dollhouse.  However, besides that part, he hasn't had a major role in a hit television series, and the Doctor Who spinoff has been successful, apparent in the fact that it has a large fan base over in the United States as well.  That's one area Chad Michael Murray would have beaten him in.  Now that doesn't mean that Gjokai wouldn't have done well on Torchwood, but it is still difficult seeing him fit into that world.
Do you think either Chad Michael Murray or Enver Gjokai would have worked out on Torchwood?
