(With thanks - and apologies -Â to George)
There goes the sun, there goes the sun, and I say it’s all right.
Everybody, it’s been a long, hot muggy summer
Everybody, it feels like years since I’ve been cool.
There goes the sun, there goes the sun
And I say it’s all right.
Everybody, your smile can welcome in the short days
Everybody, you can relax under the moon.
There goes the sun, there goes the sun
And I say it’s all right.
Sun, sun, sun, there it goes
Moon, moon, moon, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, there it goes
Moon, moon, moon, here it comes
Everybody, can’t wait to huddle in my parka (come join me!)
Everybody, it seems like years I’ve felt a sweat (P-U!)
There goes the sun, there goes the sun
And I say it’s all right.Â
Daylight Saving Time is gone; all welcome the return of Standard Time! Next to the beginning of Spring Training at the end of February, this is one of my most favorite days of the year. No more heat, not more humidity, no more sun shining in my window at 9:30 at night, no more having food melt and spoil in the back seat while I speed to get it all home before botulism and salmonella and E. coli and whatever else sets in. No more having to drive with all the windows up because… well, I guess I have to drive with the windows up in the winter, too, so scratch that one.
The sun sets tonight in Minneapolis at 4:53 p.m. I know, it’s great, and I also know you’ll be enjoying it with me. And if you’d like to make your voice heard, feel free to join my cause to boycott, bar and banish Daylight Saving Time for good, please visit:

NaBloPoMo day seven. Who woulda thunk it?

But I gotta laugh at you MINNESOTANS. Y'all don't know what heat is, and yes, I know you hate it when Southerners say that. STILL!
