Swizz Beatz has been named New York University's producer-in-residence. Don't worry, we didn't have any idea what it meant either, but we did some research and here's what you need to know about this position.
Beatz will put his skills to good work, contributing to the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music according to MTV. He will hold the position for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Of the new title, Beatz said "I'm excited to be able to take my many years of experience in the music business and use it as an example to instruct students. The invitation from Mr. Davis and professor Rabhan is humbling and I'm honored" (via MTV).
This is a super cool opportunity for both Swizz Beatz and the students who will be taking notes on his talents. It's awesome the NYU runs a program like this because it gives students the opportunity to work with a celebrity and to learn about the industry first hand.
