For anybody out there praying for a reunion between Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, you might want to find another pipe dream to grab. It has been officially announced that Lachey and girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo, are getting married. The couple started dating in 2006, and they are very excited about their upcoming nuptials.Â
"We're excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together,†the gushing couple tells Us magazine.
 Recently, Minnillo was asked why the couple has lasted for so long, and she credited open communication for their continued happiness.
"You have to talk through everything," she states. "We talk daily about things that upset us. It's about having a sounding board because if you hold in all your thoughts, dreams, anger and anxiety, then you're only hurting yourself."
Now, get ready, because there is even more good news coming. According to MSN, Minnillo states that there are no plans for a reality show based on their marriage. If you’ll remember, Lachey and his ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, did a reality show called “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.†While the show was incredibly popular, it ended up putting a massive strain on the couple’s marriage, and inevitably led to a very public break-up between the two.
Hopefully, Lachey has learned a lesson from his past marriage with Simpson, and he will keep the private things private. Who knows, maybe if Simpson and Lachey hadn’t done a reality show, they might still be married.
